Casein kinase II alpha subunit; Protein kinase domain containing protein. Sequence similarity to the CK2 protein kinase family (Eisen et al.- 2006). Tetrahymena CKII-complex appears to have two alpha subunits and one regulatory beta subunit (Nabeel-Shah et al., 2023).Genome Browser (Macronucleus)

General Information
No. Gene Name(s) Paragraph Text 166 CSKA2 CKII subunits including CSKA1, CSKA2, and CSKB1 co-purified with Cac2 subunit of putative CAF1-complex in Tetrahymena. Tetrahymena appears to contain a single putative homolog of the two regulatory beta subunits of CKII that are found in humans. Affinity purification followed by mass spectrometry (AP-MS) analysis of TTHERM_00780530 (CSKB1) identified a large number of proteins to co-purify, suggesting that CKII clients might include functionally diverse proteins in Tetrahymena (Nabeel-Shah et al., 2023).
